Nursery Weed Control with Freehand Pre-Emergent Herbicide

Video Transcript

Hello, it's Patrick Gorman once more, your Agronomist at Fernland.
Today, I'd like to talk to you about a fantastic addition to your weed management toolkit— Freehand Pre-Emergent Herbicide.

If you're in the production nursery business, you know how stubborn and relentless weeds can be. They're a real threat to the quality and salability of your plants.

Freehand isn't your average herbicide. It comes packed with two unique active ingredients that work in synergy to inhibit cell growth in seedling shoots and roots. This means you're getting powerful pre-emergent control against more than 60 of the toughest weeds out there.

What makes Freehand really exceptional is its dual modes of action; these provide a broader spectrum of weed control and assist with resistance management. It's safe on various ornamental crops, and just one application can give you up to three months of residual control and suppression of those hard-to-control weeds, including flickweed.

Freehand is easy to apply thanks to its granular formulation and excellent particle distribution. Depending on the weeds you're targeting, application rates range between 10-20 g/m2, and because of its stability on the surface of the soil or media, you don't even need to water it in immediately; rainfall or irrigation will do the job, ensuring the herbicide remains effective for a prolonged period. That's flexibility at its best.

As always, please trial on your more sensitive lines before broadly applying.

Freehand contributes to higher quality, more marketable plants by keeping those weeds at bay. It's an investment in the future of your business.

If you have any more questions or need further information on Freehand Herbicide, please get in touch with me or any of my colleagues here at Fernland. Thank you for your time.
