MULTIGUARD® SNAIL & SLUG KILLER FOR AGRICULTURAL USE
Multiguard is a unique patented snail and slug killer containing Iron EDTA as the active ingredient. It comes as premium grain based yellow coloured pellets. Available in 20kg, 150kg, 500kg & 1000kg.
More Effective: Multiguard has been shown to be very effective on: • Common garden snail [Helix aspersa] • White Italian snail [Theba pisana] • Vineyard or common white snail [Cernuella virgata] • Conical or small pointed snail [Cochlicella Barbara] • Conical or long pointed snail [Cochlicella acuta] • Small brown snail [Microxeromagna vesita] • Grey field slug [Deroceras reticulatum]
Research: In a series of Australian trials, Multiguard has been shown to be more effective and faster acting than a number of poison baits (Metaldehyde & Methiocarb based pellets). Multiguard has no smothering of the bait- snails and slugs move away to die - Rapid Kill rate- 6 to 12 hours.

Note: Multiguard at half the application rate, out performed Meta Slug and Snail Pellets by 24% and Mesurol by 36% under the conditions of the trial.

ECO FRIENDLY
Eco-Friendly: Multiguard does not harm beneficial insects. It is compatible with Integrated Pest Management. After eventual breakdown of the pellets, they add a valuable source of iron that is taken up by the plants and soil as a beneficial nutrient.
Safer for Livestock, Pets and wildlife: Multiguard is not a scheduled poison and contains no dangerous poisons, so it is also safer to use around pets and native animals when used as directed on the packaging. Multiguard is the only snail and slug killer that can be applied to Pasture and grazed after 7 days withholding period.
Cost Effective: Due to Multiguard’s superior efficacy with higher kill rates and faster action, Multiguard is very cost effective. When looking at cheaper inferior bait, consider the cost of seed, diesel, time and crop damage including yield penalty or possible re-sowing or by contamination of the harvest.
Timing: Each Snail and slug can lay hundreds of eggs between early autumn and spring therefore it is important to kill them before they lay significant eggs. Apply Multiguard when rain or moisture triggers activity, usually early autumn after first significant rains. Repeat applications may be necessary as juveniles may hatch and more snails and slugs could enter the area. Also in cold wet areas, plants can be slower growing and need extended protection. For best results apply before planting or plant emergence. Kill them where possible before they have a choice of seedlings or bait.
Rates: Very good results have been achieved with Multiguard rates as low as 5kg/Ha. If necessary, It is normally better to do 2 applications of 5kg rather than 1 at 10kg. 5kg to 16kg per Ha depending on infestation. For most infestations use the lower rate. For heavy infestations use the higher rate. 5kg/Ha of Multiguard will give approximately 13 baits per m2
Tips: Do not mix baits with fertilisers or other sprays as some substances are repulsive to snails and slugs. Eg. lime or copper. Monitor to identify population numbers and problem spots. This will help determine the application rate of bait needed. Check along fence lines, creek beds and hollows. Snails like heavy soils that retain moisture so that when they lay their eggs they don’t dehydrate before hatching. They also like lots of trash or organic matter, stubble to feed on and hide in. If conditions are moist and mild they will be very active. Clean up any trash, weeds or rocks.
