DIRECTIONS FOR USE RESTRAINTS DO NOT apply QUALI-PRO® NUTMEG® to turf that has been under stress induced by drought, hot or cold temperature or injury from other crop protection products, plant growth regulators or fertilisers. DO NOT apply QUALI-PRO® NUTMEG® to any newly seeded or newly sprigged turfgrass until seedlings or sprigs are well established or injury may result.
| SITUATION | WEEDS CONTROLLED | RATE | CRITICAL COMMENTS |
|---|---|---|---|
| Turf | Nutgrass (Cyperus rotundus) Mullumbimby Couch (Cyperus brevifolius) |
2 to 4 L/ha in 200 to 500 L of water per hectare. | Apply QUALI-PRO® NUTMEG® just prior to flowering and where there is adequate soil moisture. Thoroughly wet foliage and avoid excess runoff. Apply a follow-up spray after 2 to 4 weeks if sufficient new growth warrants re-treatment. Do not exceed two applications within 4 weeks. Use the higher rate on dense infestations. For effective Mullumbimby couch control, spray in the warmer months when weeds are more actively growing. For optimum control, do not mow for at least three days before or after spray application. Rainfall or overhead irrigation within 8 hours of application may reduce the effectiveness of the product. The addition of a non-ionic surfactant such as Wetspray® 1000 at 125 mL per 100 L of the spray volume may improve weed control. |
| Broadleaf Weeds including; Fat Hen, Fumitory, Wild Radish, Noogoora Burr, Hairy Wandering Jew, Shepherd’s Purse, Cobblers Peg, Variegated Thistle. | 2 to 3 L/ha in 200 to 500 L of water per ha | For best results, target applications to small and actively growing weeds, with good soil moisture. Sequential applications may be necessary to achieve satisfactory weed control. Do not exceed two applications within 4 weeks. The addition of a non-ionic surfactant such as Wetspray® 1000 at 125 mL per 100 L of the spray volume may improve weed control. |

WITHHOLDING PERIODS DO NOT graze treated turf or lawn; or feed turf or lawn clippings from any treated area to poultry or livestock.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS MIXING QUALI-PRO® NUTMEG® mixes readily with water. Add the required amount of QUALI-PRO® NUTMEG® to the spray tank when filling and agitate to give even mixing.
APPLICATION QUALI-PRO® NUTMEG® is a contact herbicide and therefore thorough coverage of the foliage of weeds is essential. To obtain thorough coverage QUALI-PRO® NUTMEG® should be applied through properly calibrated and maintained spray equipment at a volume of 200 to 500 L water per ha. Best results will be obtained when conditions favour rapid growth. QUALI-PRO® NUTMEG® is a water-soluble concentrate and hot, dry conditions may cause spray to evaporate reducing coverage and the performance on weeds. Do not apply under hot, dry conditions.
RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING QUALI-PRO® NUTMEG® Herbicide is a member of the benzothiadiazole group of herbicides. QUALI-PRO® NUTMEG® is a herbicide which inhibits photosynthesis at photosystem II. For weed resistance management QUALI-PRO® NUTMEG® is a Group 6 herbicide. Some naturally occurring weed biotypes resistant to QUALI-PRO® NUTMEG®, and other Group 6 herbicides, may exist through normal genetic variability in any weed population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used repeatedly. These resistant weeds will not be controlled by QUALI-PRO® NUTMEG® or other Group 6 herbicides. Since occurrence of resistant weeds is difficult to detect prior to use, Adama Australia accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of QUALI-PRO® NUTMEG® to control resistant weeds.
Re-Entry DO NOT enter the treated area until the spray has dried. If prior access is required, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist and chemical resistant gloves. After each day’s use, wash the clothing and gloves.
PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE AND OTHER NON-TARGET PLANTS DO NOT apply under the weather conditions, or from spraying equipment, that may cause spray to drift onto nearby susceptible plants, crops, cropping lands or pastures.
PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers or watercourses with the chemical or used containers.
STORAGE AND DISPOSAL Store in the closed, original container in a dry, cool well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight. Triple rinse containers before disposal. Add rinsings to spray tank. DO NOT dispose of undiluted chemicals on site. If recycling, replace cap and return clean containers to recycler or designated collection point. If not recycling, break, crush, or puncture and deliver empty packaging to an approved waste management facility. If an approved waste management facility is not available, bury the empty packaging 500 mm below the surface in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose, clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots, in compliance with relevant local, state or territory government regulations. Do not burn empty containers or product.
SAFETY DIRECTIONS May irritate the eyes and skin. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. When opening the container, preparing the spray and using the prepared spray, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist, a washable hat and elbow-length PVC gloves and goggles. If product on skin, immediately wash area with soap and water. If product in eyes, wash it out immediately with water. After use and before eating, drinking or smoking, wash hands, arms and face thoroughly with soap and water. After each day’s use, wash gloves, goggles and contaminated clothing.
