Silverado Herbicide

Effective Moss and Broadleaf Control for Professional Turf Management

Silverado Herbicide is a powerful, dual-action formulation designed to control moss and a wide range of broadleaf weeds in fine turf. Ideal for golf course superintendents and greenkeepers, it provides fast results while remaining safe for premium turf species such as Bentgrass, Couch, Fine Fescue, Winter Grass and Buffalo.

Key Features and Specifications

  • Active Constituents: 60 g/kg Carfentrazone-ethyl, 375 g/kg MCPA (as sodium salt)

  • Chemical Family: Triazolinones / Phenoxy

  • Formulation: Water Dispersible Granule (WDG)

  • Mode of Action Groups: Group 14 (PPO Inhibitor) / Group 4 (Synthetic Auxin)

  • Behaviour in Plants:

    • Moss: Carfentrazone-ethyl inhibits a key enzyme in chlorophyll production, effectively desiccating moss.

    • Broadleaf Weeds: Carfentrazone-ethyl acts as a fast-acting contact herbicide, disrupting plant cell membranes, while MCPA disrupts cell growth by mimicking plant hormones.

  • Turf Safety: Safe for Bentgrass, Couch, Fine Fescue, Winter Grass and Buffalo; not suitable for Kikuyu.

  • Temperature Flexibility: Effective in both cool and warm conditions, allowing for year-round application.

  • Residue Profile: Minimal residue, enabling rapid re-establishment or reseeding of Bentgrass and Fescues.

Weed Spectrum

Silverado Herbicide controls moss (Bryum argenteum) and a broad range of broadleaf weeds, including:
