GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Imtrade Metakill Snail & Slug Bait kills snails and slugs by irreversibly destroying the mucus producing cells that are essential for movement. Where pressure is heavy, it may be necessary to repeat the application. Best results are achieved by application during mild, damp weather when slugs and snails are most active, but not when rain is imminent. Snails need to be active to come into contact with the bait. Scatter baits evenly using an appropriate applicator by ground or air, or direct drill with seed for slug control. DO NOT place in heaps. Clean up any spilled baits, including after filling applicator.
TIMING Apply baits when crops are most vulnerable and when the pest is evident and active. For broadacre crops, start when environmental conditions trigger snail activity in autumn and before significant egg laying. For other crops, time the application to protect the sensitive growth stage. For seedlings best results may be achieved by applying 5-10 days prior to planting. See your distributor for further advice.
PRECAUTIONS DO NOT use human flaggers/markers unless they are protected by engineering controls.
PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT DO NOT allow chemical containers or bait to get into drains, sewers, streams or ponds.
PROTECTION OF LIVESTOCK DO NOT place baits in locations which are accessible to domestic animals, livestock or birds.
STORAGE AND DISPOSAL Store in the closed, original container in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and out of the reach of children, animals, poultry or ducks. • Keep away from domestic pets. • Keep away from dogs. Dogs find this bait attractive and it may kill them. • If pets are poisoned, contact a Veterinary Surgeon. Shake container contents until the container is empty. DO NOT dispose of chemicals on site. Puncture and bury empty containers in a local authority landfill. If no landfill is available, bury the containers below 500mm in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots. Empty containers and product should not be burnt.
SAFETY DIRECTIONS Harmful if swallowed. Harmful if inhaled. DO NOT inhale dust. Wash hands after use. When opening the container, preparing the product for use and if applying by hand, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing) and elbow length rubber gloves and disposable dust mask covering mouth and nose.
