Product Overview

Tombstone Duo is a broad spectrum fungicide containing the active ingredients Trifloxystrobin (100g/L) and Tebuconazole (200g/L)

It is registered for the control of Azalea Petal Blight, Botrytis Blight, Grey Mould, Downy Mildew, Rusts, Leaf Spots, Black Spot, Powdery Mildew and Myrtle Rust in a range of Ornamental plant species including but not limited to Azaleas, Roses and non fruit bearing plants of the Myrtaceae family

Key Features

Provides curative, protectant and eradicant activity. Excellent rainfast properties. Works in all weather conditions and rainfast within hours of application. Broad spectrum of activity. Registered for the control of a minimum of 9 ornamental plant pathogens. Registered for the control of Myrtle Rust. There are limited registered options for these pathogens currently. Provides contact, translaminar, mesosystemic and systemic activity, providing inside-out disease protection. Contains two strong active ingredients, with differing modes of action for both fast and extended residual protection. Can be used year round. Lower use rates. Available in multiple pack sizes – 500mL & 1L.

Tombstone Duo Fungicide – Use Rates & Label Recommendations

Mode of Action

GROUP 3 11 FUNGICIDE

Tebuconazole, one active ingredient in Tombstone Duo, is a systemic fungicide that once absorbed by leaves, stems and roots moves upwards (acropetal) within the plant. Tebuconazole possesses curative, protective and eradicant activity when controlling pathogenic fungi. Tebuconazole is a Group 3 fungicide. It works in controlling plant pathogens by disrupting the fungi’s membrane function. It is classified as a DMI inhibitor as it stops the demethylation step in the biosynthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of cell walls in many fungi.

Trifloxystrobin is the other molecule in Tombstone Duo Fungicide. Trifloxystrobin has the ability to strongly bond onto plant surfaces through penetration of the waxy layers. This forms a secure reservoir of fungicide to provide long-lasting, weather-protected disease control. Trifloxystrobin works by interfering with respiration in plant pathogenic fungi. It is a potent inhibitor of fungal spore germination and mycelial growth.

Maximising Performance

Good disease control requires good coverage. Spray to run-off ensuring thorough coverage of all foliage including the underside of leaves. Do not apply with spray droplets smaller than medium size. Apply every 7-14 days when disease symptoms first appear. In the case of Rust, make 3 applications at 5 day intervals (curative) and apply every 7-14 days (preventative). ProForce Tombstone Duo has been used on a range of ornamental plant species (ie azaleas, begonias, chrysanthemums, cinerea, geraniums, gerbera, Myrtaceae, native daisy, pelargoniums, roses, snapdragon) without damage. Some species and varieties, however, are particularly sensitive to chemical sprays and as this sensitivity is often related to local conditions, it is advisable to treat only a small number of plants first, in order to ascertain the reaction before treating a whole target group.
