DIRECTIONS FOR USE

RESTRAINTS

SPRAY DRIFT RESTRAINTS

DO NOT apply with spray droplets smaller than a MEDIUM spray droplet size category according to nozzle manufacturer specifications that refer to ASAE S572 Standard to the BCPC Guideline.

DO NOT apply when wind speed is less than 3 or more than 20 kilometres per hour as measured at the application site.

DO NOT apply during surface temperature inversion conditions at the application site.

Users of this product MUST make an accurate written record of the details of each spray application within 24 hours following application and KEEP this record for a minimum of 2 years. The spray application details that must be recorded are:

  1. date and start and finish times of application;
  2. location address and areas sprayed;
  3. full name of this product;
  4. amount used per hectare and number of hectares applied to;
  5. situation and disease;
  6. wind speed and direction during application;
  7. air temperature;
  8. nozzle brand, model and type and spray system pressure measured during application;
  9. name and address of person applying this product. (Additional record details may be required by the State or Territory where this product is used).

MANDATORY NO-SPRAY ZONES

DO NOT apply if there are aquatic and wetland areas, including aquacultural ponds or surface streams and rivers or, within 10 metres downwind from the application area.

DO NOT apply if there are susceptible non-target plants within 15 metres, downwind from the application area.

DO NOT apply if there are livestock, pasture or any land that is producing feed for livestock within 15 metres downwind from the application area.

Spring Dead Spot (Ophiosphaerella namari) Apply as a preventative application in January to March after renovation and recovery of active growth. Make a second application one month later. Apply irrigation to wash Dedicate into the root zone.
Dollar Spot (Sclerotinia homoeocarpa) 3 L/ha in 400 – 1600 L water per ha For preventative control apply on a 21-28 day interval when conditions are favourable for disease development. To control existing infections apply on a 14 – 21 day interval. This use is subject to an FRAC anti-resistance strategy. Ornamentals; Roses Powdery mildew (Sphaerotheca pannosa var. rosae; Erysiphe cichoracearum; Oidium spp.) 150 mL / 100 L water Spray to run-off ensuring thorough coverage of all foliage including the underside of leaves every 7 - 14 days according to infection pressure or beginning immediately after onset of the disease.
Ornamentals and non-fruit bearing plants of the Myrtaceae family Myrtle Rust (Uredo rangelii) 75 mL / 100 L water Apply at first signs of disease or when conditions favour disease development. Curative: For existing infections, apply 2 applications at a 14-day interval. Spray to run-off ensuring thorough coverage of all foliage including the underside of leaves. Preventive: Spray to run-off ensuring thorough coverage of all foliage including the underside of leaves every 14 days according to infection pressure.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

APPLICATION Good control requires good coverage. Application should be made using sufficient water to ensure thorough coverage. For application in turf, use 400-800 L water per ha for foliar or crown diseases such as Dollar Spot, Anthracnose, Brown Patch, Fusarium (Microdochium), Helminthosporium, Leptosphaerulina and Curvularia. Use higher water rates (up to 1600 L per ha) for treatment of soil/root diseases such as Brown Patch, Ectotrophic Root Infecting fungi and Spring Dead Spot.

Dedicate Turf and Ornamental Fungicide has been used on a range of ornamental plant species (i.e. azaleas, begonias, chrysanthemums, cinerea, geraniums, gerbera, Myrtaceae, native daisy, pelargoniums, roses, snapdragon) without damage. Some species and varieties however are particularly sensitive to chemical sprays and as this sensitivity is often related to local conditions, it is advisable to treat only a small number of plants first, in order to ascertain the reaction before treating the whole target group.

TURF NUTRITION This product acts very rapidly and where the turf is of a low nutritional status, a slight yellowing may be seen. This will be corrected by nitrogenous fertiliser application. Where possible, it is recommended that the fertiliser program should precede the fungicide application.

IPM COMPATIBILITY RISK TO NON-TARGET INSECTS: DEDICATE may have adverse effects on some nontarget beneficial insects, in particular predatory bugs. This risk should be taken into account where Integrated Pest Management utilising these organisms is practised.

RESISTANCE WARNING GROUP 3 11 FUNGICIDE For fungicide resistance management DEDICATE is a Group 3 & 11 fungicide. Some naturally occurring individual fungi resistant to DEDICATE and other Group 3 & 11 fungicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any fungal population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the fungal population if these fungicides are used repeatedly. These resistant fungi will not be controlled by DEDICATE and other Group 3 & 11 fungicides, thus resulting in a reduction in efficacy. Since the occurrence of resistant fungi is difficult to detect prior to use, Bayer accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of DEDICATE to control resistant fungi.

PRECAUTIONS

RE-ENTRY PERIOD FOR TURF DO NOT allow entry into treated areas until the spray has dried. When prior entry is necessary, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing) and chemical resistant gloves. Clothing must be laundered after each day’s use.

RE-ENTRY PERIOD FOR ORNAMENTALS DO NOT enter treated areas until spray has dried for low and medium exposure activities such as irrigation, scouting, thinning and weeding of immature/low foliage plants and/or mature/high foliage plants, unless wearing cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing) and chemical-resistant gloves. Clothing must be laundered after each day’s use.

DO NOT enter for five (5) days after application for high exposure activities such as hand harvesting, pruning and pinching, unless wearing cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing) and chemical-resistant gloves. Clothing must be laundered after each day’s use.

PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE AND OTHER NON-TARGET PLANTS DO NOT apply under weather conditions, or from spraying equipment, that may cause spray to drift onto nearby susceptible plants/crops, cropping lands or pastures.

PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEA AND THE ENVIRONMENT DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with the chemical or used containers.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL Store in the closed, original container in a cool, well-ventilated area. DO NOT store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight. Triple or preferably pressure rinse containers before disposal. Add rinsings to spray tank. DO NOT dispose of undiluted chemicals on site. If recycling, replace cap and return clean containers to recycler or designated collection point. If not recycling, break, crush or puncture and deliver empty packaging for appropriate disposal to an approved waste management facility. If an approved waste management facility is not available bury the empty packaging 500mm below the surface in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots, in compliance with relevant Local, State or Territory government regulations. DO NOT burn empty containers or product. DO NOT re-use empty containers for any other purpose.

SAFETY DIRECTIONS When opening the container and preparing spray and using the prepared spray, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing) and elbow-length chemical resistant gloves. If applying by spraying equipment carried on the back of the user, wear cotton overalls over normal clothing buttoned to the neck and wrist and elbow-length chemical resistant gloves. Wash hands after use. After each day’s use wash gloves and contaminated clothing.

FIRST AID If poisoning occurs contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre (ph: 13 11 26).
