Get the Best Out of Lonhro

Tips to get the best from Lonhro:

  • Contains 100g/kg Iodosulfuron Methyl-Sodium
  • Use a water volume of minimum 2L and ideally 5L water per 100m²
  • Results may not be seen for 4 weeks as Lonhro is slow acting.
  • Use a non ionic surfactant (sticker) every time to ensure the best result
  • If you need to overseed wait 6 weeks from application.
  • Dispose of clippings in your green bin. Do not use as mulch or spread them anywhere.
  • Clean you spray equipment well after each use. Do not use sprayer on anything but turf
  • For Bahia Grass (Paspalum notatum) suppression and seed head reduction use in summer only, every 4 weeks
  • For wintergrass use on young plants for best control
  • Keep off the lawn for at least 4 hours to reduce risk of tracking.
  • Do not water lawn ideally for 24 hours after application.

Turf Safety

Lonhro is safe to use on the following lawn types

  • Buffalo (all types including the leader Sir Walter®)
  • Kikuyu
  • Couch Common and Hybrid varieties
  • Do not use on QLD Blue Couch
  • Available in 100g bottles with measure spoon

Turf
Only apply to kikuyu, buffalo grass or couch grass (common and hybrid couchgrass. NOT Queensland Blue Couch)
Weeds Suppressed
Winter grass (Poa Annua)
150g/ha Apply to actively growing weeds and not weeds under stress. Always apply a non anionic surfactant or Hasten® at the recommended rate on the surfactant product label.

Use a water rate of 200L-500L/ha.

Avoid exceeding application rates through overlapping sprayed areas. Safety screening may not have been conducted on all new buffalo varieties and it is therefore recommended that small areas be tested for turf safety before large- scale application occurs.

For suppressed weed species, better efficacy can be expected against younger weed plants. Less than 50% control can be expected when more mature plants are established.

Bahia Grass (Paspalum notatum) suppression and seed head reduction 50g/ha Apply during summer when turf is actively growing and Bahia grass produces seed heads.
Always apply with a non-ionic surfactant or Hasten® at the recommended rate on the surfactant product label. Apply as soon as seed heads start to form or when it becomes a regular mowing intervention issue.
Apply 2-3 times at 4-week intervals after mowing. DO NOT apply more than two consecutive applications per season
