Liquid spray marker dyes are added to tank mix sprays for the purpose of assisting in the clear identification of sprayed areas. Their main function is to improve the productivity & safety of pesticide spraying.

The benefits of the use of spray marker dyes are: • Minimise the risk of missing areas, sections of paddocks or road strips which results in:

  • Reduced weed control
  • Reduced crop yield • Minimise the risk of over spraying which can result in:
  • Increased toxicity to non-target vegetation
  • Increased cost of treatment • Warning signal
  • Alerts citizens in public places that pesticide has been applied

SST ENVIRODYE RED – an alternative spray marker dye! The benefits of using Envirodye Red spray marker dye are: • Non Toxic

  • Low mammalian toxicity with no known hazards for normal use • Good tinctorial strength
  • Effective at relatively low dose rates 10-15ml/10Ltr • Non-reactive & low staining
  • Washes off hands and spray equipment much easier than Rhodamine based dyes. • Excellent spray compatibility
  • Envirodye Red is generally compatible with most common herbicides including phenoxys and glyphosates

The Problems with Rhodamine B Based Products Toxicity • Rhodamine B is listed on the State of California Proposition 65 Carcinogen List, a list of chemicals “known to the State to cause cancer”. Highly Staining • the substantive nature of Rhodamine B causes it to aggressively stain most surfaces and thus is very difficult to remove Incompatibility • the cationic nature of Rhodamine B causes it to react with many pesticides (MCPA, Glyphosate, 2,4-D Amine etc) resulting in agglomeration and blockage of spray nozzles which makes it unsuitable for many spray situations.

RATE: 10-15ml per 10Lts 100-150ml per 100Lts Spray foam 40-80ml per 100L of diluted foam solution
