Eye: Irrigate eyes with plenty of water for ten minutes. Seek medical advice for any persistent symptoms. Skin: Wash contaminated skin with plenty of soap and water. Seek medical advice for any persistent symptoms. Swallowed: Rinse mouth with plenty of water. Seek medical advice. Inhalation: Remove victim from exposure. Seek medical advice for any symptoms or irritation.

5. Fire Fighting Measures

Fire and Explosion Hazards: Non-combustible material. There is no risk of explosion from this product under normal circumstances if exposed to fire. Avoid extreme heat. Some materials may produce toxic fumes when heated.

Suitable Extinguishing Media. Not combustible. Use extinguishing media that is suited to burning materials. It is recommended to wear breathing apparatus when fighting a fire containing these materials.

6. Accidental Release Measures

Spills: Contain spillage and scoop into a sealable, properly labelled container. Sweep up, but avoid generating dust.

7. Handling and Storage

Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated area out of direct sunlight. Keep away from extreme heat and open flames. Wash hands thoroughly after use.

8. Exposure Controls and Personal Protection

Exposure Standards: Exposure limits are unlikely to be reached under normal use.

Engineering Controls: Avoid breathing dusts. Use in a well ventilated area. Ensure air concentrations are below quoted Exposure Standards.

Personal Protection: Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Avoid breathing dust and or liquid mists. Wear suitable protective clothing and standard duty gloves (AS2161). If exposed to dust and or liquid mists, also wear dust resistant eye protection (AS/NZS 1336) and particulate respirator (AS/NZS 1715 and 1716). Always carry out good hygiene and wash hands after use and before eating, drinking or using the toilet.

Symptoms or effects that may arise:

Eye: Direct contact with this material or its dust and or liquid mists (bio aerosols) may cause eye infection or irritation.

Skin: Direct contact with this material or its dust and or liquid mists (bio aerosols) may cause skin irritation (dermatitis) or aggravate skin abrasions or sores.

Ingesting: Swallowing large amounts may result in nausea, vomiting, abdominal irritation and diarrhoea.

Inhaled: Inhalation of dust and or liquid mists may irritate, inflame or sensitise the nose, through and lungs resulting in illnesses ranging from hayfever or asthma, to pneumonia (eg Legionnaire’s disease) or pneumonia-like illnesses.
