Boron Deficiency
Boron is important to growing tissue in young shoots, roots, flower buds and fruits. Boron deficiency is more likely on alkaline soils, or those that have been limed heavily.
Deficiency symptoms vary between plant species. Symptoms that may occur include: death of terminal & lateral buds, young leaves thicken, curl & become brittle, lower petals of flowers become brown & eventually die. Young leaves may also show a yellow chlorosis sometimes with reddish-purple colouring. Repeat application every week for 2 to 3 weeks.
