Quali-pro® Enclave®

Systemic, curative and preventative disease control of all major diseases, moss and algae affecting turf.

Product Overview

• Quali-Pro® Enclave® is a patented 4-way broad spectrum contact and systemic fungicide containing 365g/L chlorothalonil, 119g/L iprodione, 119g/L thiophanate methyl and 36g/L tebuconazole, in an easy-to-use suspension concentrate (SC) formulation. • It is registered for the control of leaf diseases such as Brown Patch, Dollar Spot, Fusarium Patch, Anthracnose, Helminthosporium, Grey Leaf Spot, ERI diseases including Spring Dead Spot, Take-all, Summer Decline and Fairway Patch, and moss and algae in recreational turf situations.

Singularly, each fungicide active have their strengths, but together make a powerful mixture that simply works on all major turf diseases, whether they be foliar, crown or root diseases. Quali-Pro® Enclave® is also highly effective on moss and algae.

Quali-Pro® Enclave® protects by topically coating the plant to prevent disease penetration, locally penetrates from the contact site, and moves systemically upwards from the point of application to ensure all-of-plant protection

Mode of Action

GROUP M5 | 2 | 1 | 3 FUNGICIDE

Chlorothalonil (MOA group M5) is the reliable “workhorse” of the 4 active ingredients. It is a non-systemic protectant fungicide, best known for curative and protective control of foliar leaf diseases.

Iprodione (MOA group 2) is a locally systemic fungicide, and well known for foliar and crown disease control.

Thiophanate-methyl (MOA group 1) is a xylem systemic fungicide. Relatively new to the Australian turf market, it is known for strong efficacy against Grey Leaf spot, Dollar Spot, Fusarium, Magnaporthe and Spring Dead Spot in particular.

Tebuconazole (MOA group 3) is a xylem-systemic fungicide, best known for control of root and crown diseases, but also curative control of foliar diseases. Amongst DMI fungicide active ingredients, tebuconazole is considered to have a low plant growth regulatory effect, making it ideal for late Autumn and Summer application for ERI diseases.

How to Get the Best Results from Quali-pro® Enclave®

Rates, water spray volume and wash-in (if required) is determined by the disease targeted.

Use Rates

Foliar diseases – 16 to 24L/ha in 200 to 750L of water/ha. (Use higher water volumes for crown targeted diseases). Repeat treatment after 21 days when using the lower rate of 16L/ha. Under conditions of severe disease pressure, or when using as a preventative treatment, use 24L/ha on a 28 day spray interval.

Root diseases – 24L/ha in a minimum of 750L of water/ha. Irrigate within 1 hour of application to wash Quali-Pro® Enclave® into the root zone. Make a second application 28 days later if required or as part of a preventative fungicide management program.

Algae and Moss – 16L/ha in 400 to 800L of water/ha. Apply a minimum of 2 applications at 7 to 14 day intervals (to a maximum of 3 applications). For moss and algae, do not mow or water treated areas until spray is dry.

Application Recommendations

Good disease control requires even, thorough coverage of the target area, or in the case of soil borne diseases, even application and wash-in to a depth where target disease exists.

For foliar disease spraying, use of AIXR11004 or AIXR11005 nozzles at 5km/hr and 3 bar pressure is recommended.

When treating for moss and algae, use of nozzles that produce a larger droplet size such as flood jet or air induction (o8) nozzles is recommended, so that spray droplets hit and pass through foliage to reach the soil surface easily. For soil-borne diseases, getting the spray droplets to the soil surface rather than being deposited on leaves is of vital importance.

Iprodione, thiophanate methyl and tebuconazole will be absorbed by foliage to varying degrees and speed if left on the leaf. Chlorothalonil, if left to dry on the leaf, will be bound tightly (but also forming a protective barrier to disease as it is designed to do). If left for too long on the foliage after application, later wash-in will result in less active ingredient reaching the soil and possible poor results against surface and soil-borne diseases. This is why when treating for ERI diseases, it is best to use flood jet or air induction (o8) nozzles, and wash in with 5mm irrigation (immediately after application if possible, but no longer than 1 hour after application).

Compatibility

Quali-Pro® Enclave® is suitable for combining with plant growth regulators such as Quali-Pro® Marvel Ultra® and many nutrition and plant protection products (e.g Magellan to provide control of pythium).

Quali-Pro® Enclave® may also be mixed with certain herbicides when applied as a foliar spray, such as Quali-Pro® Nutmeg®.

It is also not uncommon to mix Quali-Pro® Enclave® with Quali-Pro® Foursome turf pigment, particularly in winter if additional colour is required.

However, since not all combinations are known, it is best to perform a jar test first to determine physical compatibility.
