Campbell Chino 400SC Turf Fungicide
Stop Pythium losses in intensively managed turf
Pythium leaf blight, root rot and root dysfunction can quickly undermine turf quality on greens and other high-pressure surfaces—especially under humid, waterlogged or temperature-fluctuating conditions. Chino 400SC provides targeted, reliable control of key Pythium species in intensively managed turf.
Key features and specifications
-
Active constituent: 400 g/L cyazofamid (Group 21 fungicide) — suspension concentrate.
-
Pack size: 1 L.
-
Registered use sites: Golf and bowling greens; other intensively managed turf.
-
Target diseases: Pythium leaf blight, Pythium root rot, Pythium root dysfunction (Pythium spp.).
-
Mode of action: Disrupts electron transport in mitochondrial respiration; activity at all fungal development stages. Translaminar systemic movement; strong binding to plant tissue.
-
Program fit: Works alongside different MoA partners (e.g., Proplant—Group 28; Emerald—Group 29) for resistance management. The chart on page 4 illustrates the complementary “family of Pythium fighters.”
-
Performance: Sydney bentgrass green trial (2023) showed Chino at 10 mL/100 m² performed on-par with a standard cyazofamid and Proplant, all statistically superior to untreated through 28–35 DAT (see page 3 chart and notes).
Application and usage instructions
-
Rate: 10 mL per 100 m² (1.0 L/ha).
-
Water volume: 400–500 L/ha.
-
Timing: When conditions favour disease development; do not wait for symptoms. Apply consecutive sprays at approximately 21-day intervals.
-
Method: Apply as a foliar spray. For leaf/crown infections (Pythium leaf blight), ensure thorough foliar coverage. For root-targeted diseases (Pythium root rot/dysfunction), lightly water-in after application to place the active into the rootzone. These directions align with Chino’s translaminar activity and strong binding to plant material highlighted on page 2.
-
Best practice: Integrate into a rotation with alternative modes of action to reduce resistance pressure; adjust intervals under prolonged humidity, poor drainage or peak-risk periods indicated for each Pythium type on pages 2–3.
Where it fits
-
Greens with rapid disease expression after rainfall/humidity (leaf blight).
-
Poorly drained areas prone to root rot.
-
New bentgrass greens or cool-season activity periods prone to root dysfunction (symptoms often expressed later as temperatures rise).
Buy with confidence: robust, targeted Pythium control
Chino 400SC delivers cyazofamid in a proven SC formulation for consistent Pythium suppression across leaves and roots, supported by local trial data and clear program compatibility for season-long strategies.
