Syngenta Agador Turf Nematicide & Miticide
Unique formulation for effective control of Couchgrass Mites and Sting Nematodes
AGADOR Turf Nematicide and Miticide delivers fast knockdown of Couchgrass Mites and destructive Sting Nematodes. The unique chelated formulation enables root zone positioning where it is needed to effectively control root damaging nematodes and when used as a miticide it provides visual turf greening.
Features
- Effective on destructive nematodes and Couchgrass mite
- Flexible rates for control for up to 3 months
- Can be used on golf and bowling greens, turf farms, sporting fields, parks, ovals and fairways
Benefits
- Chelated formulation protects the active ingredient providing optimal soil penetration and contact with nematodes
- Visual turf greening when applied on the leaf as a miticide
AGADOR contains abamectin and the formulation was built specifically so that the abamectin molecules are encapsulated inside an iron chelated sphere. This shields the abamectin molecule from being trapped in the organic matter of the thatch, as abamectin has a very high KOC (organic binding potential). AGADOR can be washed into the root zone where the abamectin can protect roots against parasitic nematodes such as Sting Nematode and not be caught in the thatch. It also results in quick green-up of turf when left on the leaf during a spray targeting Couchgrass mite.
Nematode Control
AGADOR is particularly active against Sting Nematodes. The window for application should be positioned around the population build-up periods from October onwards. Proper sampling should be carried out to determine the infestation levels in order to choose the most appropriate spray intervals.
Example: The initial counts reveal 80 nematodes per 200 g soil sample. The program can therefore be planned to include 2-3 applications of AGADOR @ 2 L/ha on a 21 day spray interval. This strategy will ensure lowered population numbers and reduced impact on the turf until the New Year.
Couchgrass Mite Control
AGADOR can be used as a preventative or early curative miticide when treating nymph and adult Couchgrass mites. Ideally AGADOR is used as the first application in a two step process and is rotated with an alternate chemistry from a different mode of action (MOA) group. AGADOR represents the knockdown component of a program approach aimed at managing this pest better than previously possible.
