GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: Surefire Macromite Miticide is a selective miticide for the control of plant-eating mite pests on apples, pears, apricots, nectarines, peaches and plums. When used as directed and applied to the foliage, it provides quick knockdown through contact activity, and good residual control. Due to its unique chemistry, mode of action and selective nature, Surefire Macromite Miticide is relatively inactive against beneficial/predaceous mites and insects and therefore is compatible with IPM and resistance management programs.

CROP MONITORING: Effective control depends on regular crop monitoring. Check trees regularly (every 3-5 days) during the season.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS: Measure the required amount of Surefire Macromite Miticide, add to partly filled spray tank under agitation, and then add the remainder of the water. Use a sprayer designed to apply high volumes of spray solution up to the point of run-off and matched to the crop being sprayed. Set up and operate the sprayer to achieve even coverage throughout the crop canopy. Apply sufficient spray solution (Surefire Macromite Miticide + water) to cover the crop to the point of run-off. Avoid excessive run-off. The required amount of spray solution (Surefire Macromite Miticide + water) will change as the crop grows. The required water volume may be determined by applying different test volumes, using different settings on the sprayer, from industry guidelines or expert advice. Surefire Macromite Miticide has been shown to degrade rapidly when mixed and stored with alkaline water. To prevent degradation under alkaline conditions, solutions of Surefire Macromite Miticide must be used promptly (within 24 hours). Alternatively, a commercially available buffering agent can be added to the solution to reduce the pH to a neutral/acidic range.

APPLICATION: This product is non-systemic in action and therefore complete coverage is required for mite control.

COMPATIBILITY: A number of insecticides and fungicides are compatible with Surefire Macromite Miticide if mixed in the spray tank and used promptly. As it is impossible to know all the commercial products on same, we cannot assume any responsibility for tank mix compatibility. We can only recommend to the user that a preliminary compatibility test be carried out with the planned mixture to observe the physical aspect of the spray and the reaction it may produce on the plants to be treated during the days following the test.

RESISTANCE WARNING: Resistance Management: Only one application should be applied per season. Insecticide Resistance Warning: GROUP UN INSECTICIDE For insecticide resistance management Surefire Macromite Miticide is a Group UN insecticide. Some naturally occurring insect biotypes resistant to Surefire Macromite Miticide and other Group UN insecticides may exist through normal genetic variability in any insect population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the insect population if Surefire Macromite Miticide or other Group UN insecticides are used repeatedly. The effectiveness of Surefire Macromite Miticide on resistant individuals could be significantly reduced. Since occurrence of resistant individuals is difficult to detect prior to use, PCT Holdings Pty Ltd accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of Surefire Macromite Miticide to control resistant insects.

PRECAUTIONS: Re-entry Period: Do NOT allow entry into treated areas until the spray has dried. If prior entry is necessary, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing) and chemical resistant gloves. Clothing must be laundered after each day’s use.

PROTECTIONS: PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT: Highly toxic to fish and aquatic organisms. DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with the chemical or used containers. DO NOT allow spray drift to contaminate streams, rivers or waterways. Dangerous to bees. DO NOT spray plants in flower while bees are actively foraging.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL: Store in the closed, original container in a cool, well-ventilated area. Do NOT store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight. Triple or (preferably) pressure rinse containers before disposal. Add rinsings to the spray tank. Do NOT dispose of undiluted chemicals on site. If recycling, replace cap and return clean containers to recycler or designated collection point. If not recycling, break, crush or puncture and deliver empty packaging to an approved waste management facility. If an approved waste management facility is not available bury the empty packaging 500 mm below the surface in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots in compliance with relevant Local, State or Territory government regulations. Do not burn empty containers or product.

SAFETY DIRECTIONS: Will irritate the eyes. Avoid contact with eyes. When opening the container and preparing spray wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist and a washable hat, elbow-length chemical resistant gloves and disposable mist face mask covering mouth and nose. When using the prepared spray wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist, a washable hat and elbow-length chemical resistant gloves. After each day’s use, wash gloves and contaminated clothing. Wash hands after use.
