Aquatic Blue is a water-soluble blend of food-grade colourants (Acid Blue 9 and Food Yellow 4) designed to reduce UV and visible light penetration in water. By shading the water column, it limits photosynthesis in submerged algae and aquatic plants, thereby helping to control their growth and improve overall water quality.
Suitable for ponds, dams, and lakes, Aquatic Blue also enhances visual appeal and helps maintain cooler, oxygen-rich water conditions for healthier aquatic environments.

How It Works

Aquatic Blue filters out red–orange (590–750 nm) and blue–violet (380–495 nm) wavelengths of sunlight. This reduces the light available for photosynthesis, effectively shading the photic zone and slowing the growth of submerged weeds and algae.

Safety and Environmental Information

Aquatic Blue is non-toxic and safe for swimming, irrigation, and livestock watering when used as directed. It does not stain skin, hair, rocks, or sand once diluted. Over time, the dye breaks down naturally through photodegradation and dilution.
