# Sceptre at a glance

**Product Name:** Sceptre® 230SC
**Product Type:** Fungicide
**Active Constituent:** 230g/L Fludioxonil
**Resistance group:** Group 12 Fungicide (Contact)
**Formulation:** Suspension concentrate
**Pack Size:** 1L

### How does Sceptre® 230SC work
Sceptre Fludy is the first Group 12 Fungicide we have to include in your resistance strategy with other Campbell Fungicides.

Sceptre is a contact fungicide, that stops a regulatory enzyme required for glycerol synthesis. This inhibits growth of germ tubes of the spore and mycelia on turf. When a pathogen (that is controlled by Sceptre) is exposed to Fludioxonil an increase in osmotic pressure occurs inside the cell causing the hyphal tips to burst.

### DIRECTIONS FOR USE (Extract)

| Crop | Disease | Rate | Critical Comments |
| :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- |
| Turf | Anthracnose (Colletotrichum graminicola) Brown Patch (Rhizoctonia solani) Dollar Spot (Sclerotinia homeocarpa) Helminthosporium Disease (Bipolaris spp, Dreschlera spp, Exserohilum spp) Winter Fusarium (Microdochium Patch) (Fusarium nivale) | 1.6L/ha | Preventative applications: Spray when conditions are favourable for disease development. Make a second application 21 days later if conditions continue to favour disease development. Early curative applications: Spray as soon as possible after first symptoms are detected. Make a second application 14 to 21 days later if required. DO NOT mow or water treated area until turf or lawn is thoroughly dry, ideally allow 24 hours. Refer to Application section for detailed information. |

NOT TO BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE, OR IN ANY MANNER, CONTRARY TO THIS LABEL UNLESS AUTHORISED UNDER APPROPRIATE LEGISLATION.

**Sceptre is available in 1L bottles**
**Rate for Sceptre® is 1.6L per hectare**
The unique formulation strength of Sceptre® 230g/L Fludioxonil allows for the lower rate. It gives the turf manager less disposal of packaging.

# Sceptre® 230SC replicated trial work

Conducted at various locations and for various diseases we undertook replicated trial work to show bio-equivalence in comparison to two standards; of 125g/L Fludioxonil SC and Dacogreen WeatherShield. There was no significant difference across the trials.

[Chart: Sceptre 230SC Brown Patch Trial March 2017 (NSW). Bar chart showing % of disease remaining over 7, 14, 28, and 42 days after treatment for Sceptre 230g/L, Standard Fludioxonil 125g/L, Dacogreen WeatherShield, and Untreated.]

**About the trial**
**Turf type:** bent grass green.
Brown Patch (Rhizoctonia spp) appeared late summer. One application was made with Sceptre® (16mL/100m²), Standard Fludioxonil (30mL/100m²) and Dacogreen® WeatherShield (200mL/100m²). Please note no other fungicides were applied for the duration of the trial.

**Observations and Conclusions**
* 7 days after treatment all products were statistically superior to the untreated
* 14 days after treatment all products were statistically superior to the untreated.
* 28-42 days after treatment all products were statistically superior to the untreated. All products were controlling brown patch equally.
* Sceptre® has demonstrated efficacy on brown patch statistically the same as Standard fludioxonil and Dacogreen WeatherShield.
* Sceptre® is a great tool along with Dacogreen® WeatherShield in controlling brown patch.

[Chart: Sceptre 230SC Anthracnose Trial 2017 (ACT). Bar chart showing % of disease remaining over 7, 14, 21, and 42 days after treatment for Sceptre 230g/L, Standard Fludioxonil 125g/L, and Untreated.]

**About the trial**
**Turf type:** bent/poa grass green.
Anthracnose appeared late summer. Very high pressure anthracnose was observed. One application was made with Sceptre® (16mL/100m²) and Standard Fludioxonil (30mL/100m²). Please note no other fungicides were applied for the duration of the trial.

**Observations and Conclusions**
* 7 days after treatment all products were statistically superior to the untreated. Standard Fludioxonil was statistically better at this point in time in controlling anthracnose.
* 14 days after treatment all products were statistically superior to the untreated.
* 21-42 days after treatment all products were statistically superior to the untreated. All products were controlling anthracnose equally.
* Sceptre® has demonstrated efficacy on anthracnose at statistically the same level as standard fludioxonil.

[Chart: Sceptre 230SC Fusarium (Michrodochium Patch) Trial 2018 (NSW). Bar chart showing % of disease remaining over 7, 14, and 28 days after treatment for Sceptre 230g/L, Standard Fludioxonil 125g/L, and Untreated.]

**About the trial**
**Turf type:** bent/poa grass green.
Fusarium (Microdochium Patch) appeared in winter with very little growth to aid recovery. One application was made with Sceptre (16mL/100m²) Standard Fludioxonil (30mL/100m²). Please note no other fungicides were applied for the duration of the trial.

**Observations and Conclusions**
* 7-14 days Even though the untreated plots increased in disease % there was still no statistical difference between any treatments.
* 28 days after treatment of both Sceptre® and Standard Fludioxonil were statistically superior to the untreated which continued to increase in disease coverage.
* Sceptre® has demonstrated an efficacy on Fusarium at a statistically equivalent level as Standard Fludioxonil even under an increasing percentage of disease in the untreated areas.
