# How to calibrate your handheld spreader at your work site

### Example
Manufacturer model:
Scotts Handheld Spreader
Effective swath width: 2 m
ACELEPRYN® GR application rate and spreader settings:
750 g/100 m²
Spreader settings: 3
1.5 kg/100 m²
Spreader settings: 4

1. Check the spreading width of your spreader, for example it may be 2 metres wide (W)
2. Measure the treating area (length), for example it may be 10 metres long (L)
3. Area = W x L, using the example metrics above that would be 2 m x 10 m = 20 m²
4. Measure enough product to cover 20 m²;
    a. For the higher rate of 1.5 kg / 100 m² = 300 g to treat 20 m²
    b. For the lower rate of 750 g / 100 m² = 150 g to treat 20 m²
5. Set the gauge on the side of the spreader to setting 3 (depending on your walking speed)
6. Add the measured amount of ACELEPRYN® GR to the hopper
7. Now walk the measured area of 20 m², while selecting a walking and handle turning speed to cover the area (approximately one handle turn per step at a medium walking pace)
8. If step 7 is not accurate, repeat steps 2 to 7 across another measured area until the desired application rate is applied
9. Once the correct handle turning speed and walking speed has been determined, then the hopper can be filled, and broader application can begin.

# How to use
For optimal control, irrigate with approximately 6 mm of water immediately after application. For ornamental plants, before application remove black plastic or other weed barrier material that are impermeable to water.

Where treating for caterpillars, irrigation should be delayed for 24 hours.

# Application timing

| Season long control of up to 6 months can be achieved using the higher application rates* | |
| :--- | :--- |
| **African Black Beetle** | ACELEPRYN® GR may be applied from spring onwards for preventative control of these pests. |
| **Stem Weevil larvae / Billbug larvae** | ACELEPRYN® GR should be applied when overwintered adults are first observed to prevent damage in late spring. |
| **Scarab larvae** | Apply before or at peak egg hatch. |
| **Caterpillars including Armyworm, Cutworm and Webworm** | ACELEPRYN® GR will provide excellent curative control in turfgrass and should be applied when pests/damage is observed. For Armyworm control, best time to apply is early to late January in a preventative manner otherwise excellent curative control can be achieved when damage is observed. |
