Directions for use

| PLANT | PEST | RATE | CRITICAL COMMENTS |
| :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- |
| Initiator tablets will control or significantly reduce damage caused by insects (described below) that attack containerised, newly planted and established plants. Through insect protection and fertiliser effects the tablet has been shown to improve survival and growth rates of newly established seedlings, containerized trees and shrubs, and newly-planted or established ornamental plants. | | | |
| Roses | Aphids | 1 tablet per m of plant height. | **Transplanted stock:** Place tablet(s) in planting hole, immediately beneath root ball, at time of planting |
| Azaleas (in-ground and potted) | Azalea lace bug | | **Established in-ground or potted plants:** Create a hole in the soil approximately 5 cm deep, as close to the absorptive roots as possible (at least 10 cm away from stem of plant). Place tablet in hole and ensure tablet is completely covered with soil after placement. In plants greater than 1 m in height, where multiple tablets are required, space out the tablets evenly around the plant. |
| Lillypillies | Psyllids | | |
| Potted palms | Mealybugs | | |
| Magnolias | Scale | | |
| Eucalypt trees | Various defoliating insect pests including Chrysomelid larvae and adults (eg. *Chrysophtharta* spp., *Paropsis* spp., *Cadmus* spp.), scarab pests (eg. *Heteronyx dimidiata* and *H. crinitus*) | 1 tablet per seedling tree | **Transplanted seedling stock:** Place tablet in planting hole, immediately beneath or adjacent to root ball, at time of planting |

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Initiator tablets are formulated to release active ingredient slowly. Release of active ingredient is dependent on presence of adequate soil moisture. For best results, irrigate the plant after treatment, and ensure that the plant receives regular irrigation for at least 2-3 months after treatment.

FORESTRY APPLICATIONS
Once the seedling has been placed into the planting hole where an Initiator tablet has been applied there is no requirement for any deviation from normal planting practice.
This tablet formulation has been shown to significantly improve growth and establishment rates of eucalypt plantations in areas where insect pests are significant limitations to growth and establishment.

PRODUCTION AND LANDSCAPE ORNAMENTALS
Initiator tablets can be used as directed on the plant species described above in areas such as production and retail nurseries, home gardens and residential complexes; business, office and shopping complexes; golf courses, airports, cemeteries, parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, and other landscaped recreational areas.

INSECTICIDE RESISTANCE WARNING:
GROUP 4A INSECTICIDE
For insecticide resistance management Initiator is a Group 4A insecticide.
Some naturally occurring insect biotypes resistant to Initiator and other Group 4A insecticides may exist through normal genetic variability in any insect population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the insect population if Initiator or other Group 4A insecticides are used repeatedly. The effectiveness of Initiator on resistant individuals could be significantly reduced. Since the occurrence of resistant individuals is difficult to detect prior to use, Bayer CropScience accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of this product to control resistant insects.
Initiator Tablets may be subject to specific resistance management strategies. For further information contact your local supplier or Bayer Environmental Science representative.

PRECAUTIONS
Do not allow stock to graze treated trees or pasture adjacent to trees.

PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEA AND ENVIRONMENT

DO NOT leave tablets exposed above ground as they are dangerous to wildlife, particularly birds.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL
Store in the closed, original container in a cool, well ventilated area. Do not store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight. Do not dispose of undiluted chemicals on site. Dispose of at a local authority landfill. If no landfill is available, bury the container below 500 mm in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots. Empty containers and product should not be burnt.
