DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Restraints
DO NOT apply if rain is expected within 3 hours.
DO NOT allow spray to contact the foliage of wanted plants.
DO NOT apply to turf under stress.
DO NOT apply to waterlogged soils.
DO NOT apply to turf with saturated root zone conditions.
DO NOT apply to newly sown / planted turf; only apply to established turf areas.
DO NOT use where Kikuyu is the desired species.
DO NOT tank mix with any type of fertiliser.
DO NOT tank mix with other pesticides.
DO NOT apply if products containing bensulide have been applied in the last 3 months and DO NOT
apply products containing bensulide for 3 months after the application of Silverado Herbicide.
For PROFESSIONAL use only.
DO NOT allow bystanders to come into contact with the spray cloud.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Application
Apply with a calibrated garden, backpack, power or boom sprayer. Apply in a minimum of 800 L of
water per hectare (8 L of water per 100 m²). Silverado Herbicide is best applied in overcast dry
conditions to avoid rapid evaporation.

Spray Preparation & Clean Up
One of Silverado’s active constituents is carfentrazone-ethyl, a fast acting contact herbicide which
controls weeds through a process of membrane disruption, and to ensure optimum performance and
crop tolerance, the product needs to be used in spray equipment that is thoroughly cleaned, with no
residues from previous sprays.
To avoid injury to following crops, immediately after spraying, thoroughly remove all traces of
Silverado Herbicide from mixing and spray equipment. This can be achieved by using a specialist
boom-cleaning product.

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING
GROUP 14 4 HERBICIDE
Silverado Herbicide is a member of both the aryl triazoline and phenoxy groups of herbicides.
Silverado Herbicide has both the process of membrane disruption, which is initiated by the inhibition of
the enzyme protoporphyrinogen oxidase, and disruption of plant cell growth modes of action. For
weeds resistance management Silverado Herbicide, is a Group 14 and Group 4 herbicide.
Some naturally occurring weed biotypes resistant to Silverado Herbicide and other Group 14 and
Group 4 herbicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any weed population. The resistant
individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used repeatedly.
These resistant weeds will not be controlled by this product or Group 14 and Group 4 herbicides.
Since the occurrence of resistant weeds is difficult to detect prior to use, Turf Culture accepts no
liability for any losses that may result from the failure of Silverado Herbicide to control resistant weeds.

PRECAUTIONS
DO NOT use this product in the home garden.

Re-entry Periods
General Public
DO NOT allow entry into treated areas until the spray has dried.
Occupational Workers
DO NOT enter treated areas until the spray has dried unless wearing cotton overalls buttoned to the
neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing) and chemical resistant gloves. Clothing must be laundered after
each day's use.

PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE AND OTHER NON-TARGET PLANTS
Contact with wanted plants and trees except lawns may cause severe damage.
DO NOT apply under weather conditions, or from spraying equipment, that may cause spray drift onto
nearby susceptible plants/crops, cropping lands or pastures.

PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT
DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers or watercourses with the chemical or the used containers.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL
Store in the closed, original container in a cool, well-ventilated area. DO NOT store for prolonged
periods in direct sunlight. Triple-rinse containers before disposal. Add rinsings to spray tank. DO NOT
dispose of undiluted chemicals on-site. If recycling, replace cap and return clean containers to recycler
or designated collection point.
If not recycling, break, crush or puncture and deliver empty packaging for appropriate disposal to an
approved waste management facility. If an approved waste management facility is not available, bury
the empty packaging 500 mm below the surface in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for
this purpose clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots, in compliance with relevant
Local, State or Territory government regulations. DO NOT burn empty containers or product.

SAFETY DIRECTIONS
Harmful if inhaled or swallowed. Will irritate skin. Will damage the eyes. Avoid contact with eyes and
skin. DO NOT inhale dust or spray mist.
When opening the container, mixing, loading preparing spray and using the prepared spray wear
cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing) and elbow-length chemical
resistant gloves, goggles and half facepiece respirator.
If product or spray in eyes, wash it out immediately with water. If product on skin, immediately wash
area with soap and water. Wash hands after use. After each day’s use wash gloves, contaminated
clothing and respirator. If the respirator is rubber, wash with detergent and warm water.
