### Properties of Perlite
Perlite is of rheolithic structure and volcanic origin, amorphous and is characterised as an acid volcanic glass that contains water occluded in its internal structure. The molar relationship of silica: alumina is 1:10.

Chillagoe Perlite contains no free silica no asbestos fibres, no nitrates sulphates or phosphorus, no radioactive elements nor organic substances, manufactured from a naturally occurring mineral not containing any genetically modified organisms, chemically it is highly pure and generally very stable, will not spark or burn on contact.
