# Cool and warm
season grass control

Tribute is a sulphonylurea turf herbicide containing the active ingredient foramsulfuron. Tribute provides the broadest and most efficient post emergent grass weed control capabilities of any herbicide currently in the turf industry. Providing outstanding control of Wintergrass, Ryegrass, Goose Grass, Crowsfoot, Paspalum and suppression of Kikuyu. When it comes to grass weed control, why use anything else.

[Image: A square showing a patch of grass labeled "Untreated" with a small red dot indicating a weed.]

Readily absorbed by foliage and translocated to the site of action in the growing points of the plant. At the growing points, Tribute inhibits the enzyme acetolactate synthase, which stops the plant’s production of three key amino acids.

As a result, cell division and growth stop within hours of a Tribute application. Chlorosis in the target weed progresses to necrosis after a few days, followed by weed death in one to four weeks. Weed death occurs more quickly at warmer temperatures.

### Features
* One of the most effective post emergence grass weed herbicides available on the market.
* Offers the greatest turfgrass tolerance compared to alternatives
* Can be used with Destiny® and Spearhead® for broad spectrum weed control
* The broadest selective grass weed herbicide on the market
* Schedule 5 Chemistry
* Can be used in close succession to overseeding or sprigging operations without impacting upon performance.

### Benefits
* Confidence in knowing you are using the best
* Different mode of action for resistance management peace of mind
* Tailor made solutions in a single application
* Multiple grass weed control in the one application.
* Much safer to use and environmentally friendly than Diclofop Methyl or Arsenate products (DSMA or MSMA)
* Weed control is possible during the establishment phase (couch sprigging operations)

# Situations for use and application rates.

Tribute is intended for professional use on golf course turf, sports fields, commercial lawns, cemeteries, parks, campsites, recreational areas, roadsides, school grounds and sod farms.

### DIRECTIONS FOR USE

| Situation | Grasses/ Weeds | Rate | Water Rate | Critical Comments |
| :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- |
| Turf – Couchgrass (common and hybrid couchgrass), Zoysia grass only. DO NOT apply to Queensland Blue Couch | Wintergrass (Poa annua) Ryegrass (Lolium perenne) | 1.5 L/ha | 200-400 L/ha | A repeat application may be required if a dense weed cover or larger plants are present. Ryegrass control is improved with the addition of Destiny at 25 g/ha. |
| | Crowsfoot Grass (Eleusine indica) | 2L/ha | | Two to three applications at 14-day intervals may be required for effective control. |
| | Goose Grass (Eleusine tristachya) | | | Apply when weeds are present. |
| | Paspalum (Paspalum dilatatum) | | | Apply Tribute once or twice at a 14-day interval following an application of an MSMA or DSMA product at label rate. |
| | Kikuyu (Pennisetum clandestinum) SUPPRESSION ONLY | | | Apply three times at 14-day intervals. |
| | Wintergrass (Poa annua) Ryegrass (Lolium perenne) Crowsfoot Grass (Eleusine indica) Goose Grass (Eleusine tristachya) | 8 to 15 mL / L water | | Spot treatment only: Use the higher rate for the more difficult to control or larger weeds (crowsfoot and larger ryegrass plants). Spray to wet, but do not apply beyond runoff. |

### Spray program and resistance management
Tribute contains the active ingredient foramsulfuron (Group B). The product selectively removes unwanted problematic grass weeds in Couch and Zoysia turf.

For control of Ryegrass and Wintergrass, speed of removal depends on air temperature. Warmer temperatures lead to faster removal. At temperatures of 21ºC and higher, weed kill can take place in one - two weeks. If temperatures are 15ºC or lower, removal could take three to four weeks or longer. It is not advisable to use Tribute during cold periods in winter.

For control of Kikuyu, Crowsfoot and Paspalum, a multiple application strategy with Tribute is required to achieve the best results. For Crowsfoot control, application of Tribute prior to tillering is key in maximising performance. For Paspalum control, use Tribute following an application of MSMA or DSMA to achieve the most efficient weed kill. For Kikuyu, a 3 application strategy of Tribute, applied in late summer early Autumn is important in getting the best performance.

Tribute is best used as a foliar absorbed product and ideally, should be applied between 200-400L/ha.

# Timing of application

Tribute can be used to remove undesirable grasses such as Wintergrass, Ryegrass, Kikuyu, Paspalum and Crowsfoot Grass in actively growing couch and zoysia turf, any time the weeds are present.

Weed control is faster at higher temperatures.
If using Tribute as a transition aid, applications are made in the spring.

| Application Time | Application Rate L/ha |
| :--- | :--- |
| **Wintergrass** Apply anytime wintergrass is present and actively growing. | 1.5 L/ha |
| **Ryegrass** Apply anytime weeds are present. Weed control is faster at higher temperatures. | 1.5 L/ha |
| **Crowsfoot Grass** Two to three applications at 14 day intervals in spring, early summer. Best applied prior to the Crowsfoot tillering. | 2L/ha |
| **Goose Grass** Apply when weeds are present in spring / summer. | 2L/ha |
| **Paspalum** Apply Tribute once or twice at a 14-day interval following an application of an MSMA or DSMA. | 2L/ha |
| **Kikuyu** Apply three times at 14-day intervals. Best results are achieved with applications in late summer early autumn. | 2L/ha |

Crowsfoot Grass is one of the most common annual grass weeds in turf during the summer. In tropical areas the weed can be a problem all year round.
Tribute symptoms on weeds develop in the first week but complete weed control can take several weeks, especially at lower temperatures.
For larger Crowsfoot Grass plants repeat Tribute applications may be required.

# We’re all talking Tribute...

"During the trial period with Tribute we had successful results suppressing and controlling Kikuyu in Santa Anna Couch as well as excellent results controlling Crowsfoot on both adult and juvenile plants. Tribute had no damaging effect on the couch.

The liquid formulation was easy to mix and apply.

The rate that we used was 2L/ha in 400L of water with a coarse droplet and we left the product on the leaf until dry. We syringed the couch 4 hours after application and again the following morning to prevent any tracking.

We made two applications during summer over a six week period and have had control for a further 12 weeks. The benefits that we have seen with Tribute, will be utilsed as a major management tool for the control of these grass weeds in the future at Shortland Waters Golf Club."

Course Superintendent
Shortland Waters Golf Club, NSW.

"I recently trialled Tribute on an area of Santa Anna Couch on a fairway at Avondale Golf Course. The post emergent application was carried out in late Summer to mature poa in a heavily shaded area. I was very happy with the results at the 1.5L/Ha rate. Tribute was simple to apply and we saw no damage to our couch.

The application was made close to a practice putting green and we saw no tracking. This product will be a valuable tool for us to use at Avondale to remove poa and it will fit in well with our poa control program. I am looking forward to the release of Tribute."
**DAVID WARWICK**
Course Superintendent
Avondale Golf Club, NSW.

"I recently completed some trials with Tribute herbicide. Crowsfoot is a huge problem at our golf club and I have trialled many products attempting to contain the spread of this pest.

I applied 3 knapsack applications of Tribute at 10 mls/L over a four week period on Greenlees Park fairways. The results were outstanding with minimal damage caused to the host species.

Control of the more mature Crowsfoot was slow and did require multiple applications. The liquid formulation mixed well in the tank and was easy to apply. It also appears to have a residual effect on the Crowsfoot because minimal weeds have resurfaced some months later. I look forward to the product release to finally gain control of an ongoing problem."
